Hi, I'm new here! =D

I recently got a 30GB Zune as a Valentines Day present from my boyfriend. The Zune wasn't exactly.."new", because it was out of it's original packaging, but it had barely ever been used, and his friend was giving it to him, cause he had no use for it. The Zune is in perfect condition, needless to say.

When I first installed the software, I went to zune.com to get it from there. I installed it, and it was distorted looking, and my boyfriend said, "Don't worry, it did the same thing for me when I got it. Just wait for a box to come up, and click "no"." So I did, and I selected No, for the question of "Can you see this?" It worked itself out to where I could see what was on the screen, and I went on from there to put stuff on my Zune.

Now it's several weeks later, and last night, I tried to put stuff on my Zune, but the software looks all distorted again, and I can't fix it! I've restarted the computer, I've un-instaled it, and re-installed it. Once I did that, I patiently waited for the screen to come up to ask me if I could see it, and that never happened, instead, it came back with the screen I had to begin with before I un-installed it. I've been to zune.com to get support for the problem, and nothing helped. Here is what it looks like:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

I've done everything I can to get this fixed. I even updated my computer, thinking that would help, but it didn't.

Any help is aprpeciated. The only thing I can do now with my Zune, is just charge it. =/

i dropped my zune today and cracked the glass that covers the lcd screen (but not the lcd screen itself.) zune customer report keeps telling me that it's not covered by my warranty.

does anyone know the best way about getting this repaired or where they've had theirs repaired? it's a black 80 gig.

i just got a new zune this past wk a pink one and its beautiful!
i want to download vids onto it and im supposed to have a dvd burner on my laptop but it cant download the vids because of the copywrite on it.  i wanted to put The Pest on it or some other video.
So i looked at the zune.net site and it says you should use vids downloaded off of the net.
What are some sites you all use to do this? I want them to be legal sites so if I have to pay a couple dollars to do it I will.
I dont like the whole piracy thing.
So yea.. please let me know. =) I really love my zune and Im glad I chose it over an ipod.
Thanks for your time.

Im just wondering what is going on.

How-to: Delete All Content From Your Zune

Dec. 27th, 2006 | 11:43 pm
posted by: existhere in izune

Taken from the people at Zunerama.com:

With your Zune attached to a computer, it's easy:
• Start Zune software and connect your Zune to the PC.
• From the Options menu, choose Sync, your device name, and then click Erase Zune Device.
• Click OK after seeing the "are you sure" prompt.
• All content on the player will be erased.

To erase all Zune content without using a computer:
• Press and hold the Back button while pressing "up" on the control pad.
• The Zune will start to reset. Immediately press and hold the Back button and at the same time press "right" on the control pad and the OK button in the center of the Control Pad. Hold these buttons until your Zune device restarts and you receive the message "Clearing contents. Please wait."
• When the Home screen appears, the erase is complete, and you can again use the Zune device.

With either of these methods, you will lose the pre-loaded content on your Zune. Any other content you have in your PC library will re-sync the next time you connect your Zune.

You can find the original article here.
